Hi!!  Happy Halloween!!  Hope you all are having a wonderful week so far and if you live on the East coast I hope you are safe and survived the storm!

Today is 3D Wednesday over at My Creative Time.  Emma asked us to make a 3D type card for today so I  tried my hand at making a center step card!  It was a lot of fun and I only ruined 1 piece of card stock trying to cut it right!! :)  I found a great tutorial on YouTube HERE!

I used the mouse from Create A Critter 2!! Isn't he so cute!!! LOVE that cartridge so much!  He was cut out at 3 inches.  The Christmas tree is from the Winter Frolic cartridge and it was cut out at 4 inches.  All the backgound paper is from the MME 6X6 paper pad Merry.  The sentiment as well as the ornaments along the sides of the card are from My Creative Time's Warm Holiday Fun set!

Thank so much for stopping by!

My Creative Time~Scrapping the Little Things

Hi!  Happy Monday!!
I hope you all had a nice weekend!  Today is "Scrapping the Little Things" over at My Creative Time.  This is the day that we showcase Project Life,  Smashbook or Project Life "like" layouts!

I honestly did not think I would ever get a Smashbook!  I didn't really know what they were or what they were for.....but the more I saw what everyone was doing with them, the more I liked them so I decided to give it a try! Now I think I'm going to be hooked!  It reminds me a lot of a scrapbook I made back when I was in high school.....many moons ago!!!  :)

Here is my first attempt!!

I'm actually pretty happy with how it turned out!  And it was a lot of fun.  I tend to save lots of paper mementos so this is ideal for me!!  I wanted to keep it as stress free and simple as possible, I didn't want it to turn it to another scrapbook that I get years behind on!  So I decided not to obsess with having it look "perfect"

My son  (Joseph) is in band and I always save the concert programs and never know what to do with them! Well now I do!! It was so simple, glue in a Smashbook pocket and stick it in there (instead of a drawer!)  And this was the first time Joseph had to wear a tuxedo jacket to play so I had to have a picture of that!! I also used some scraps of paper and some die cuts I had in my stash.  I usually save cuts I make and end up not using.  The only thing I did that required a little work was cut out a few musical notes with my Cameo, otherwise I just used stuff I had on hand.  Like I said I really want to keep this fun and simple!

I used My Creative Time stamps from the Just Simply Live and Cherish This Moment sets, both of these are PERFECT for "Smashing" with!! I also used a hot air balloon I had on hand that I had cut out with MCT's hot air balloon die!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

My Creative Time 3D Wednesday!

Hi and welcome to another My Creative Time 3D Wednesday!  For today Emma asked us to "alter something" :)  It could be anything.....a frame, a box, ect...
So I chose to alter a wooden frame I  picked up  at Michael's.  It was one of the unfinished wood frames that cost a dollar.

I love chicken decorations (for some reason! lol!) for my kitchen so I made this to hang up somewhere in there!

I forgot to take a picture of the frame before I covered it! oops!! :)

Anyway,  I started by painting the edges of the frame brown, I already had the paint on hand! Then I covered it with patterned paper from the Autumn Splendor collection by We R Memory Makers.  I used MCT's Spring Chicken Background stamps for the fun chicken wire behind the chicken!  The chicken is from the Country Life Cricut cartridge.  It is cut at 3".  I used MCTs Build A Banner Kit  for the banner and Anyday Bingo and Crossword for the letters.  I also used the Egg Dies from the Hello Spring set.  I stamped   the 5 cents from the Piles of Smiles set onto the layered tags from the Teeny Tag Greetings set.  The little stitched heart stamp on the tag is from the Beary Special Thoughts set!  I inked around EVERYTHING with TH distress ink in Vintage Photo and Tea Dye.  I added some raffia I had on hand and that was it!  :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!

My Creative Time Show Me Your Technique Tuesday!

Welcome to another MCT Show Me Your Technique mini blog hop!!
If you arrived here from Shar's blog then you are right where you should be! :)

Hop Line Up
Ruthie
Shar
Tracy <----Me!

I made this rocker girl card using the Rock Princess cartridge.  The girl is cut out at 5 "
The sentiment is from My Creative Time's Small Talk set, I stamped it onto a tag I made from one of the dies from MCT's Build A Banner set.

For my technique I wanted to show you how I made this brick background for my card!

Here are the supplies I used:

Tim Hotlz Brick Wall embossing folder
Versa Mark ink
Clear embossing powder
Tim Holtz distress ink
and Ranger blending tool

So for the first step, ink up your embossing folder with Versa Mark ink.  Then emboss a thick piece of white cardstock with it by running it through your cuttlebug.

Next pour clear embossing powder over the ink.

Heat it up to melt the powder.

Next, using your blending tool and ink color of your choice, ink over the embossed side

The ink will resist the embossed areas.
Wipe off excess ink with a paper towel or baby wipe
and that's it!!

I made one with TH black ink and one using TH Fired Brick ink!
Thanks so much for hopping along with us!

My Creative Time 3D Wednesday!

Hi and welcome to MCT's 3D Wednesday! The day when we all make any project other than a card or layout :)

I decided to make a little Halloween decoration (i am on a Halloween kick!)

I used one of those wooden plaques you can pick up at Micheal's for a dollar!  I covered it in Halloween patterned paper and inked around the edges with TH black distress ink. I added some burlap which I got from Liz's Paper Loft Boutique.   I found this cute little witch feet SVG for free on line here!  I cut them out with my Cameo.  I used the Best Witches stamp from My Creative Time's Treat's For My Sweet stamp set.  A must have for Halloween!  I stamped it onto one of the banner dies from MCT's Build A Banner Kit
